HIstory Marches On! Billboard Design Contest

History Marches On!

Well, this has been very exciting. Earlier this spring, I scrolled past a post for a billboard design contest for the Historic Society of Annapolis. Very lucky that I gave it a second look & then spent a frantic two weeks visiting museums, researching the history of Annapolis and sketching out ideas.

I came up with a few concepts early on, but the most exciting was to use the billboard as a treasure map. The idea would be to pick out an item from each of the nearby museums / historic sites and use the location of the billboard as the starting point of a scavenger hunt. The final concept evolved a bit from there, but everything depicted can still be found walking around Annapolis*.
Next time you like exploring, pick a museum and see how many you can find!

The response has been overwhelmingly positive. I smile every time a friend / family sends me a pic saying they've found the billboard. A huge thank you to Historic Soceity and Arts Council of AACounty, this has been an amazing experience.

*If you happen to find Maryland's state dinosaur, resembling Chessie, kindly let me know.
